40 Tips for a Better Life
40 Tips for a Better Life
Reading tips from the Internet, I got this useful list where I personally follow some of it to help me sort of improve my day to day life. Read through it and just follow the things you want to believe. Remember, each person has his/her own needs/wants/beliefs.
1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
3. Buy a DVR and tape your late night shows and get more sleep.
4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, ‘My purpose is to __________ today.’
5. Live with the 3 E’s — Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
6. Play more games and read more books than you did in 2007.
7. Make time to practice meditation, and prayer. They provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives.
8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.
9. Dream more while you are awake.
10. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
13. Clear clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.
14. Don’t waste your precious energy on gossip, OR issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
15. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.
17. Smile and laugh more. It will keep the nagative blues away.
18. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
20. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
Next 20 after the jump.
21. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
22. Make peace with your past so it won’t spoil the present.
23. Don’t compare your life to others’. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
24. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: ‘In five years, will this matter?’
26. Forgive everyone for everything.
27. What other people think of you is none of your business.
28. Remember God heals everything.
29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
30. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
31. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
32. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
33. The best is yet to come.
34. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
35. Do the right thing!
36. Call your family often.
37. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for _______. Today I accomplished ____.
38. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
39. Enjoy the ride. Remember this is not Disney World and you certainly don’t want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride.
40. Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can’t change.

Find Your Spiritual Side
Find Your Spiritual Side
5 ways to get started.
1. Look within.
Whether you choose an organized religion or a more individual practice, the spiritual journey is a personal one. To begin, search within and ask, What do I want out of life? Why am I here -- what is my purpose? Reflect on what spirituality means to you and what role you want it to play in your life, and you'll have a better sense of how to embark on your own path.
2. Be present.
Instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, slow down, tap into your feelings as they unfold, and find the beauty in the now, whether from a friend's laugh or a starry night. Open your eyes and heart and you'll feel a sense of connectedness to the world and see that you're a part of something bigger.
3. Let go.
Put faith in the unknown and give up trying to control how your life will play out. When you embrace your spiritual side, you're choosing to believe that God, the universe, or the divine has your best interests in mind. Trust that there's something positive to be found even during tough times and that everything is happening as it should.
4. Meditate.
Meditation involves turning off your mind so you can connect with your spirit and your own peaceful center. It can be as simple as adding a one-minute pause to your day or taking a few deep breaths to create an oasis of calm in your world. That moment of quiet helps you free yourself to find insights that are typically drowned out by the noise of everyday life.
5. Stay connected.
Living spiritually is a daily choice, which requires more than going to a weekly religious service. You need to stay in touch with your own spirituality and spend time with people on a similar path. And surround yourself with visual cues such as short prayers or pictures that remind you of the person you want to be.

Basic Relaxation Techniques
In general, relaxation techniques involve refocusing your attention to something calming and increasing awareness of your body. It doesn't matter which relaxation technique you choose. What matters is that you try to practice relaxation regularly to reap the benefits.
There are several main types of relaxation techniques, including:
Autogenic relaxation. Autogenic means something that comes from within you. In this relaxation technique, you use both visual imagery and body awareness to reduce stress. You repeat words or suggestions in your mind to help you relax and reduce muscle tension. You may imagine a peaceful place and then focus on controlled, relaxing breathing, slowing your heart rate, or feeling different physical sensations, such as relaxing each arm or leg one by one.
Progressive muscle relaxation. In this relaxation technique, you focus on slowly tensing and then relaxing each muscle group. This helps you focus on the difference between muscle tension and relaxation. You become more aware of physical sensations. One method is to start by tensing and relaxing the muscles in your toes and progressively working your way up to your neck and head. Tense your muscles for at least five seconds and then relax for 30 seconds, and repeat.
Visualization. In this relaxation technique, you form mental images to take a visual journey to a peaceful, calming place or situation. During visualization, try to use as many senses as you can, including smell, sight, sound and touch. If you imagine relaxing at the ocean, for instance, think about such things as the smell of salt water, the sound of crashing waves and the warmth of the sun on your body. You may want to close your eyes, sit in a quiet spot and try these 3 types.

Have a plan
From Barabara Hof
Nugget - Be aware
We tend to vastly overestimate what we can get done in one month
but underestimate what we can achieve in 6 months, a year or in a
few years. That is why we usually give up before we get our well
deserved rewards.
When you are sure of what you want, do not give up - ever!
Nugget - Have a Plan
You must have heard the saying: If you fail to plan, you plan to
fail. I know that you want to succeed as that is the reason why you
are here but fact is, only about 5% of the populations has written
down goals and even less have a plan for achieving them.
You want to make sure you are one of the 5%!
Most of the time I will send you something actionable. You can just
read it and think about it or you can actually put it into action
and see how it changes your life. Not all at once but one step at
the time. So let's start with our first action:
Action: Write down all your goals and start thinking how you could
actually achieve them.

Greater Balance in Your Life - Awareness Week!
Is your life in balance? Are you even aware of whether or not your life is balanced? If you answered 'no' to either question, that could all change this week, as it is now 'Balance Awareness Week'. This is the one week out of the year where you can 'officially' celebrate by looking at your life and really thinking about whether or not it's balanced, and then looking a little further to identify the areas where you may be out-of-balance.
If you do these two things, I'm betting you'll feel inspired and ambitious enough to go the distance and make a few healthy changes in your lifestyle to create greater balance and harmony.
This isn't about cutting out things that are important (or berating yourself for just how out-of-balance things have become!), but rather about de-cluttering your schedule, letting go of things--time commitments, and perhaps even toxic relationships--that aren't serving you and fitting well with your goals.
More importantly, it's about making space in your life for the things that truly matter to you!
I have studied a program called the artists way. The premise is that every week you go by yourself to enjoy an activity yoiu really want to do. Like going on date by yourself. The idea is to have fun and explore your creative side.
A lot of people deny their creative side. I heard a woman yesterday say
Oh no I'm just not creative that's not me. Well its sad because shes not living a whole life. She is very out of balance. And anyway its just a myth we are all creative. As a kid if I gave her some crayons she would most likely scribble away and create a childs masterpiece. She has just forgotten or believed what other people have told her.
As Osho said " If you are doing something you dont like, then just STOP"
Its just a question of being aware and remebering whats important to your happiness and joy.
So let's all celebrate together, shall we? I invite you to take a moment to look at your life, and see what might be better balanced, and then take the first steps between here and there--if you take the first baby steps, momentum can build, and you can have a lifestyle that's better suited to your wants, needs and emotional wellbeing.
You can do this by making a list of incompletes.
Then ask do I want or need to complete this or carry on with this activity.
What would make me happier? What do I really yearn to do?
Enjoy this little project
